What are the health determinants that influence the appearance of diabetes (type 1 or 2) in children?

I was tested for diabetes and do not have it. I was wondering what else can cause frequent urination besides diabetes? I have started to drink more water and I am going to the bathroom a lot and I’m hoping it’s not something serious.

Is there really a test that can determine if someone carries the gene for Type 1 Diabetes? I this is true, what chromosome is it in?

I have diabetes and my blood sugar is always so high. What foods may reduce blood sugar and/or are just low in sugar and carbohydrate? Thanks.

The reason I ask is because it seems heavy metals can cause type two diabetes. Smoking tends to cause cadmium poisoning. It would seem that it should contribute to it, but smokers tend to be slimmer which wouldn’t correlate to the strong relationship between obesity and diabetes.

Does anyone know of any sources indicating smoking as a causation for diabetes?
Statistically speaking smokers are slimmer than the rest of the population by about 10 lbs. I know some huge smokers myself…that’s not the point.

I heard that diabetes effects whether or not a woman can have kids. is that true?

Do you guys think asthma is worst the diabetes or the opposite? Do you think there both equally bad?

I have heard that people with diabetes should not take cold, flu or pain medications. Why is this? Also, I have heard that they should avoid exposure to high heat and humidity? Why is this? I also would love to know what it is exactly, and why you need to watch what you eat and use a meter?

Is it like 1 out of every 15? What’s the probability if the dad has diabetes? Does it raise it? How about how often does a child develop diabetes if a parent has it? I’m asking because my dad has diabetes and I’m in my teens and I want to know my chances of getting it.
